Advise Mayors and senior staff on strategies to advance innovative, data informed, evidence based economic mobility strategies.Understand, identify, and translate federal funding opportunities and provide technical assistance to city leaders to maximize these investments, including identifying strategies to leverage up public funding with private and philanthropic capital. Build and lead a national, remote-based internal team and external economic development consultants to support and advise Mayors across the country in advancing economic mobility.Coordinate city cohorts for project implementation. Lead the Department of Neighborhoods + Citizen Engagement, which includes the Office of Financial Empowerment. Chair the Data and Evidence Team, Co - Direct the US Census Complete Count Committee, lead the Priority Based Budgeting transition, and direct the Neighborhoods of Focus economic and community development projects. Develop and Chair the Mayor's Community Response Cabinet for COVID 19 economic recovery. The Department is focused on Engaging Citizens, Advancing People, + Building Neighborhoods. The Department includes the Office of Financial Empowerment and is responsible for serving as the key liaison to the Lansing School District, Lansing Promise, and Higher Education partners and lead Serve Lansing. Lead the City of Lansing Data & Evidence team and the Innovation Team in conjunction with the Harvard Bloomberg City Leadership Initiative.

Support YMCAs throughout Michigan in building capacity to implement and sustain the portfolio of evidence based health programs and deliver the YUSA Healthy Living strategic plan. Key functions include staff training, communication among YMCAs, building connections with local and statewide health & medical organizations, building referral and reimbursement systems, and funding sourcing and proposal support.

Responsibilities-Lead team to source and sustain multiple revenue streams for innovative programs- Centralize product lines to standardize and create efficiencies. -Design and implement signature Y programming at 100 + Y locations-Align the Y of Broward County Health and Wellbeing programming to the national Healthy Living Framework.-Expand the reach of the Y through new community collaborations with municipalities, schools, healthcare providers and funders.-Co-Chair Florida State Alliance Healthy Living Committee and serve on the Florida Statewide Pioneering Healthy Communities Coalition-Implement system wide policies such as HEPA standards.-Develop coalition to link healthcare system to community-based, evidence based programs.Accomplishments:-Negotiated a comprehensive Shared Usage Agreement between the Y of Broward County and the Broward County Parks and Recreation Department, passed by the Broward County Commissioners.-Centralized Aquatics Department which created $250,000 growth in annual revenue-Secured the human and financial resources to create a comprehensive Active Older Adult program, cited by YUSA as a national model. -Led the Healthy School Zone project, cited by the CDC as a model of youth engagement in local food environments.

Responsibilities•Lead a division of 5 FT and 100+ PT staff with a direct budget of $1.2 Million overseeing community collaborations to deliver innovative programming at Y locations and 60 + community partner sites.•Develop new business opportunities. •Lead the Pioneering Healthy Communities initiatives in Broward County.•Serve with board and select Y leadership on the strategic planning committee.•Develop new partnerships to address key community issues specifically Healthy Aging, Drowning Prevention, Childhood Obesity, and health equity issues. Accomplishments:•Leveraged Pioneering Healthy Communities grant funding to work collaboratively with a multi-sector collaboration to secure federal Community Transformation Grant Funding of $1.7 million and $600,000 in local foundation funding.•Developed evidence-based youth wellness program and secured $1.4 Million in grant funding over 4 years and generated community partnerships between the school board, local foundation funding, Rotary clubs, and the Y, to serve over 20,000 children.•Secured over $1 Million in grant funding over 4 years for Senior Health Innovation to develop a nationally recognized system to disseminate evidence based strategies.

ResponsibilitiesManaged Group Exercise and Personal Training, and Fitness Floor: trained and managed staff of 50 instructors, personal trainers, fitness floor staff, and healthy lifestyle counselors. Created and managed yearly budget.Developed new fitness programming and oversaw class schedules and staffing for 5 studios and 3 community locations which conducted over 100 classes per week.Marketed programs and services through public service announcements, advertising campaigns, and community events. AccomplishmentsCreated new programming resulting in 120% of revenue goals.Secured multiple grants from local and national foundations and public health entities.Developed a successful partnership with the Michigan Department of Community Health Arthritis program to implement the CDC evidence based program EnhanceFitness. Opened two community locations offering the program.Hosted the first EnhanceFitness Master Trainer Training, with CDC officials in attendance.
