I have spent thirty-one years working in public education in the states of Washington and Oregon and the countries of Jordan and Bahrain. I attended Washington State University for an undergraduate degree in agriculture education and while there, I was a founding member of my sorority, Alpha Phi (Beta Rho Deuteron). In 1999, I returned to WSU to complete an M Ed in Education Leadership. While attending classes at WSU Tri-Cities, I completed my internship and earned an administrative credential. In May of 2012, I shook Dr. Elson Floyd’s hand at the WSU commencement ceremony in Pullman after earning my superintendent credential and Doctorate in Education. I am an eternal Coug.For five years, I lived in the Middle East and worked as an international school Deputy Director and Director in Amman, Jordan and Manama, Bahrain. While abroad, I earned a Certificate of Advanced Leadership from Harvard University, served as a Warden to the United States Embassy in Bahrain, presented to the International Rotary District 2452 Conference on education, learned to speak Arabic, and was honored to meet His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain. I have been a member of Soroptimists and Rotary International of Gresham where I served on the Board of Directors as well as being the chair for the annual fundraising and event and the literacy committee. I am currently a member of Rotary International of Yakima, a board member for the Wenas Mammoth Foundation, and President of the South Central Washington State University Alumni Chapter. My philanthropy’s include heart projects, and breast cancer research.
