As part of the IT Infrastructure team, we managed the core IT experience for an international company. I personally also helped on location in Edmonton and throughout Canada with over 250+ locations nation-wide.I designed from scratch End-User Documentation and workflow design for the majority of Canadian Operations along with overhauling various International departments, such as R&D and Compliance workflows, modernizing with new tools, mainly Jira and Confluence.Added to this position was the Jira Application Manager, and as an SME of Jira / Confluence and other Atlassian products; I supported the company to grow in accountability between departments, producing more efficient workflows and enabling smooth flow of work between and through departments. Managed, exact and sustained workflow.

Livi Design was a mobile hardware startup focused on improving mobile work through a laptop-shell for your phone. This enabled 30+ hours of solid work, and leaving the phone charged, so work can continue. From design, marketing, community engagement and fundraising, I was the founder and inventor of the Casetop. I learned in all areas about managing a hardware startup, and it helped me understand the impact of my work. The Casetop was successful in operating from conception up to the first 100% working prototype. I have brought the lessons learned from this endeavor to my day-to-day job and the experience is extremely valuable. One highlight is through the fiscal responsibility of Livi Design, in spite of ceasing operations, all pre-orders were refunded to a higher than 95% refund rate. Development was funded without using crowd-funded support, and these crowd-funded funds returned upon cancellation.

Microsoft Unified Communications (Lync and Deskphones), Office Suite, End User Documentation and Training. Most of the end-users at this company were not ‘computer people’ so my skills as a ‘computer translator’ were continued to be refined here and I was much loved at this job.

1. Started as Tier 2 and rose to technology head before leaving, On-site Relationship Manager for 3rd Party IT Solution Provider (Microsoft’s Unified Communications platform, including custom Polycom Deskphones), 2. Packaged Insurance Software using Microsoft’s APP-V Workstation Virtualization Container software, designed and implementation. This was particularly difficult as insurance software is usually targeted to much older OS versions but with our implementation of APP-V, it was able to be remotely updated and managed. Saved a lot of time and money working on this and I became very knowledgeable about Application Virtualization.
