Trained in high-tech optical pre-testing machines which facilitate the day-to-day operations of Specsavers:- operation of 3D Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machines which scan (in 3D) the retina for symptoms of glaucoma, macular degeneration and other eye conditions, requires patience and constant interaction with patients - operation of Vertometers and Nidek Tonorefs which determine the estimated prescription of eyeglasses- regularly conduct eye pressure and autorefraction tests on patients - able to aid customers in frame selection as well as perform minor adjustments/repairing on glasses- trained in pricing methods/points concerning lens and frame modifications used in spectacle customisation- proficiently use Specsavers' database Socrates 7 to input patient prescription information, personal details and orders- use tools (or sometimes my own hands) and machinery to adjust and correct the fit of spectacles for greater patient comfort and to ensure their prescription is being used in the most correct way possible- dispensing and frame styling.
