I lead a team of instructional designers and ed-tech specialists at the University of California San Francisco's Center for Pandemic Preparedness and Response. We help public health programs design and deliver engaging, evidence-based, and accessible online training and educational content. Since 2020, we've trained more than 13,000 local health department staff across California to perform COVID-19 contact tracing, outbreak investigations, and vaccine outreach.

Advised national health ministries and laboratories in Malawi, Namibia, Uganda, Zambia, and Cambodia to develop and monitor new systems and workflows for surveillance of recent HIV infections.Designed and managed trainings for more than 900 lab, clinical, and health informatics staff in these five countries.

Directed a pilot study for surveillance of recent HIV infection in Malawi, results from which informed scale-up of similar systems in 10 additional countries.Led trainings for more than 300 lab, clinic, and other survey staff. Oversaw study protocols at 120 study sites in clinics, health centers, and hospitals across four regions of Malawi.Developed a novel system for specimen transport between remote clinics and centralized district labs using WhatsApp and motorbike couriers.

Oversaw operations and strategic direction of a portfolio with peak funding of $14 million.Directed first Population-based HIV Impact Assessment in Namibia, including recruitment of >300 staff, management of >10 lab/field trainings, and pre-survey listing of >40,000 households.Negotiated memorandums of understanding with Namibia Ministry of Health, Namibia Statistics Agency, and Namibia Institute of Pathology. Co-led various national technical working groups, task forces, and committees.

Oversaw portfolio of HIV research and surveillance activities with annual funding of $750k – 1.5M. Led training, implementation, analysis, and reporting for of several HIV sero-surveys, including: respondent-driven surveys of key populations and a household-based incidence cohort study in Namibia's Zambezi region.Supervised three project officers and indirectly oversaw work of 50 community-based partners.Designed and developed trainings for regional HIV quality improvement data review forums.
