A Global Youth Climate Training program offered by the Global Youth Coalition in collaboration with Oxford Net Zero aimed to empower me to engage more directly in the UNFCCC system. Topics treated and skills gained included;- Climate Finance; this knowledge positioned me to analyse funding gaps and advocate for equitable distribution of resources.- Climate Policy; this expertise allowed me to assess policy effectiveness, identify potential loopholes, and advocate for stronger regulations.- Climate Change and Nature; impact of Climate Change on Ecosystems, the role of natural solutions like forest conservation, and how to integrate nature-based approaches into climate strategies imparted in me the valuable knowledge to develop holistic climate change solutions. - Climate Litigation; this expertise positioned me to advocate for legal action and contribute to the development of stronger environmental laws by exploring cases against governments or corporations, the role of international courts, and the use of litigation to hold polluters accountable.- Gender and Climate Change; the impacts of climate change disproportionately affect women. I examined the specific challenges faced by women, the role of women in climate solutions, and how to ensure gender equality in climate action plans. This research allowed me to advocate for inclusive solutions that empowered women to be agents of change.- COP 27 and COP 28; I analysed agreements on issues like climate finance, loss and damage, and global emissions reduction targets. This motivated me to be at the forefront of global climate action.

- I was responsible for increasing attendance at online and in-person events, particularly targeting women in STEM and ethnic minority students.- I needed to promote events through student-only platforms and channels beyond the reach of my team, such as societies and university career services.- I worked diligently to exceed my assigned target outreach, leveraging student networks and email messaging to audience values.- Event sign-ups saw a significant increase, with a 50% rise in women in STEM attendance.

Key responsibilities included;- Providing guidance and responses to inquiries from potential students regarding student life.- Ensured students arrived on time at the appropriate location for the various open day events.

- Developed engaging STEM outreach materials based on water quality and environmental issues for GSCE and A'Level students.- Effectively communicated complex scientific concepts to diverse students, fostering engagement, and understanding.

- Fully attended the Capacity Building Programme during the 2nd and 3rd week of September. - Delivered a background research product upon the completion of the Capacity Building Programme under the guidance of a specialised group of academic mentors. The research established the final Climate document that represented participants’ voices and was incorporated into the Model's final deliverables to be taken to the real COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh.
