Develop engaging programming outside of the school day through mentoring Counsels students individually and in groups Works with families/caring adults to ensure involvement in student education and postsecondary planning .Created a 40-parent core group to engage them into their child’s future. Collaborate with administration to develop and Implement State Curriculum guidelines of NJBOE for the NJ GEAR UP Mentoring component. Developed activities for social and emotional development to support educational and postsecondary planning which includes exposure to the STEM field addition developed & designed a student booklet. While program is in session I daily assisted scholars to create academic goals to achieve high academic standards in ELA & Math then developed a personal tutoring focus plan with instructors. Data distribution, data input, data collection and report generation of State Annual student – parent surveys. Weekly detailed data input to record scholar development. Implemented, effective classroom management and engagement tactics for 20 plus students of diverse backgrounds. Annual evaluations continuously rated high effectiveness reviews from students and head staff.

First Year Seminar #ProfessorMJFirst Year Seminar (FYS) formerly (Freshman Seminar), has been designed to support First Year Students during the time of transition to university and more specifically, NJIT. Course OverviewThe required FYS course aims to connect students to faculty and staff, while facilitating discussion related to their academic discipline and future professional employment. It is a required course for all new first time students. During this semester students will explore topics that will help them succeed at NJIT. Studies have shown that students who actively participate in a new student seminar during their first year of college do better academically, feel more connected to their school and are more satisfied with their college experience. This class is designed to be interactive and dialogue-driven.
