Always learning new ways to design plumbing systems to be current with plumbing codes and building guidelines. I create parametric families for flexibility within Revit models with capability to populate information for scheduling and calculating system flows and fixture units. I design the piping system layout above ceiling, coordinated with ductwork and other disciplines, and sloped piping below grade/slab coordinated with structure for clash free design. I prepare each discipline Revit model for export and use Navisworks to generate and highlight a more detailed report of clash issues. My day to day tasks included the complete design of storm and storm overflow with GPM flow calculations, domestic water supply and return (with booster pump if necessary) with heat loss, pressure loss, and friction loss calculations, medical gas supply systems design to be within maximum pressure losses, fuel oil supply and return system for generator power backup, and natural gas supply. I also correspond with architects on the level of design required for modeling in Revit, choosing efficient plumbing fixtures and accessories. And respond to contractor requests for information in finalizing project construction.
