Commodity Manager Metals
CurrentResponsible for the Metals spend of Signify in Europe as Commodity Manager and leading the sub-commodity of die castings (~50% of spend). Leading other sub-commodities ad interim when needed (maternity/paternity cover, backfill periods).Business units include Outdoor & Indoor Professional Lighting, Consumer Lighting, OEM and Conventional Lighting with 4 main factories.Sub-commodities: Die Casting, Metal Parts (sheet metals, fasteners, etc), Steel, Aluminum Extrusion, Poles & Brackets, Reflectors, Copper Wires, Painting/Surface Treatment.Spend managed: €120M (150 suppliers) together with a Strategic Buyer team of 4 highly motivated individuals from different countries.Prepare and lead quarterly negotiation programs resulting in yearly price savings of >5%. Co-ordination with Strategic Buyers on best negotiation approach, act as first escalation point and follow-up on team results. Identifying potential gaps and opportunities. Support Factory Buyers in local negotiations with factory unique suppliers.Quarterly e-Auction on die casting alloys directly with smelters/refineries for the complete European demand including internal and external foundries.Form Category Strategy in alignment with Businesses, present and get approval from various MT members and stakeholders (yearly cadence).Synchronizing with Factories and Businesses on must win battles and action trackers.Analyses of market intelligence on aluminum, steel, energy and global economy gained from external consultancies. 12 months forecast preparation of part price index. Preparing monthly “newsletter” on key takeaways for the Team. Presentation to wider group of stakeholders on supply market intel quarterly on metals.Sustainability topics, environmental & other tariffs: core member of CBAM team, guidance and support to stakeholders on sustainability related to metals (recycled content, EPD's) and dynamic changes around tariffs. Attending various webinars on mentioned topics.
