  I work as an intern in the group responsible for the development and R&D activities in our backbone network. From the optical layer and WDM to IP network analysis, I had the opportunity to learn about most of the areas of the backbone network. I could meet with vendors, see tendering processes, and work with such new security technologies as quantum key distribution.My most interesting tasks were:-Participating in the testing of a quantum communication (QKD) device pair-Creating a Grafana-based dashboard to display various IP network metrics-Mentoring a student during their 6-week professional internship-Responsible for the modernization of a backbone network laboratory room-Contributing to the optimization of the new optical graph of our backbone network-Developing an internal website for knowledge sharing
