After 10+ years in academia, including a tenured position at the University of Maryland, and 6+ years in industry I am currently seeking new professional opportunities. Key experiences and personality traits that I bring to the table:- Consistent focus on and passion for synthesis, integration, and translation of technical knowledge for a variety of methodological and applied audiences- Publication history that spans various venues including peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, an authored book, two edited handbooks, encyclopedia articles, and book reviews as well as roles as presenter, discussant, and chair for various sessions - Experience overseeing and advising on operational evaluation procedures for automated systems at scale within language assessment contexts - Extensive network of connections in the psychometric, machine learning, learning sciences, and related interdisciplinary areas- Strong ability to create intellectual safe spaces so that others are willing to trust and engage with me through genuine listening and reflection in order to find points of connection and misalignment- Experience and willingness to teach a broad range of quantitative methodology courses through in-person and distance learning approaches - Experience as an instructor for a variety of audiences that include measurement, education, and health sciences students in pre-tenure and tenure positions- Experience in the traditional academic activities of grant writing, mostly as co-PI due to my interdisciplinary orientation, and supervising Ph.D. and Master’s studentsI especially love supporting the professional development of the international educational measurement community! I currently have the true pleasure to serve as the lead portal developer for the Instructional Topics in Educational Measurement Series (ITEMS) for the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME).
