Lead deckhand aboard motoryacht Minderella (60m Feadship). I was offered the Bosun's position, but sadly had to decline.

I worked alongside one of the most interesting creative directors of our time, Francois de Villiers. It was an honour and a privilege. Francois is known for some of SA's most iconic TV commercials such as: "Yebo GOGO" (MTN), "Met Eish" (Klipdrift) and "It's dry, but you can drink it" (Savanna), to name a few! Francois and Lindy (copywriter) allowed me to work on some of their initiatives at the time. Francois enjoyed one of the headlines I wrote so much that he pitched it to the client (one of CPT's large newspapers) knowing that it was way too toung-in-cheek for a family newspaper. It was a banner to wish Mamelodi Sundown's (soccer team) good luck in their first match at the FIFA Club World Cup. Their nickname being "The Brazilians", the sport headline read: "Wax 'em, Brazilians!" - Francois enjoyed the headline so much that he had it printed as a mock-up for me as a 'going-away' present.

Part time job whilst studying. Being in advertising, I thought this a great way to see things from another angle.

Life-guarding is something I have enjoyed as a pass time/job over the summer holiday season.

Whilst on a working holiday in Florida, I learned a lot about restoring dams/rivers/lakes where natural erosion has damaged the shoreline.
