About Andre Carter
Standing at the intersection of agriculture, social issues, policy, and political action, my career has been cultivated for one that meets the needs of service within a space of under representation. It's integral to my belief that a career must reflect the light of a person's life. Therefore, I have always volunteered myself. Enlisting in the United States Navy after high school and going on to work with various non-profits, service has been the highlight of my life. Dedication to a cause from political volunteerism in Montgomery, AL with the local NAACP branch to knocking on doors for URGE (United Reproductive Gender Equality) as it relates to women's health. My life choices have spoken in ways that I cannot put into words alone. Therefore, action has been the way I have spoken, in college I pushed the Black experience while at a conservative Christian college (Faulkner University) as a way to challenge myself in adverse environments. I am no stranger to unfamiliar territory, as I have worked within my community and outside of it. At AKEEP (Alabama Korea Education and Economic Partnership) I developed a fondness for the Asian American experience and the benefits of cultural diversity. While at the Federation of Southern Cooperatives, I grew in knowledge of my own culture and other Black identifying cultures both abroad and domestic. I believe that my cultural understanding and experiences have led me to become a professional who can craft policy that benefits all personifications in our great nation!
