Law clerk for the Richland County Public defenders office, public defender attorney after passing the bar Feb. 2023.

Teaching students about how to properly interact with the police to avoid negative outcomes. Would travel to nearby cities to talk to groups of students and facilitate interactive activities that gave people a better understanding of our legal system.

Work as a part of a team to review financial accounts to track signs of financial crimes such as human trafficking, money laundering, illegal gambling, and cash structuring.

Spent the semester doing legal research and drafting memos on various legal issues from environmental safety to debt collection. Worked with various offices to assess changes needed to be made to the safety guidelines ahead of the effective date for new regulations.

Helped clients navigate the VA higher levels of review to increase there disability benefits. Conducted intakes and interviews of clients while researching their facts to determine if our office could adequately service them. Corresponded via phone call, email, and fax with head attorneys, clients, third parties, and the VA to keep everyone updated on the status of the case.
