Capt Andre N. Mahone Jr. is the Chief of Operational Law for the 9th Reconnisance Wing, Beale Air Force Base, California. Capt Mahone began his civilian career in 2013 as an Assistant Public Defender before transitioning into private practice in Tampa Florida. Capt Mahone earned his direct appointment commission, and entered active duty as an Air Force Judge Advocate in January 2018. Capt Mahone deployed in 2019 to Djibouti Africa where he was the Chief of Military Justice for Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA). As Chief of Military Justice of CJTF-HOA, Capt Mahone managed over 250 cases, 100 criminal complaints all while coordinating command actions for Article 15’s, GOMORs and REFRADs. While deployed Capt Mahone taught Human Rights to Djiboutian special forces and other mission partners, and traveled and executed missions in contingency locations. Capt Mahone personally drafted over 95 legal reviews and enabled 167 missions across the continent of Africa. Capt Mahone received a Joint Service Commendation Medal for his service while deployed. Capt Mahone returned from deployment to the 502d Installation Support Group, Joint Base San Antonio, Lackland, Texas where he was the Chief of Administrative Discharges for the largest discharge program in the Air Force. As Chief of Adminstrative Discharges at Lackland, Capt Mahone’s team accounted for more than half of all discharges for the Air Force, and all BMT discharges. Under Capt Mahone’s guidance, his team accomplished 99% of all BMT discharges within the 15 day Air Force metric. Capt Mahone educational background consist of him attending the University of West Florida in Pensacola Florida, and graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science. Capt Mahone majored in Pre-Law/Legal Studies. Capt Mahone attended Stetson University College of Law, in Gulfport Florida, and graduated in 2010. Capt Mahone is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Florida.
