Key responsibilities include:- Tracking and assessing policies related to alternative response models, call allocation, and community safety across city, county, state, and national levels.- Conducting research on public safety models for crisis response nationwide, identifying best practices, and recommending policy changes to enhance community safety.- Managing the Public Safety Call Allocation & Staffing Study and leading policy development projects.- Acting as a liaison to policy-making bodies, such as the Local Public Safety Coordinating Council (LPSCC) and the Transforming Justice Project.- Collaborating with the City’s Office of Government Relations to align community safety initiatives with broader policy goals.- Developing and implementing a communications plan to engage stakeholders and inform them on community safety issues.
