Thesis Worker (Msc)
Determination of propeller induced pressure pulses by mean of vibration measurements on a hull plate section above the propeller:Currently the pressure impulses are measured by means of pressure sensors(hydrophones) mounted flush with the outer side of the hull plating. The number ofhydrophones varies between 1 – 15, depending on ship type, size and purpose of themeasurement. The project goal was to develop an cost-efficient method to measure propeller induced pressure pulses without mounting hydrophones in the hull plating. Project has been solved by finding a new method based on to the Finite Element solution. This is executed by measuring the frequency response and transform to pressure by using inverse method.
