Administrative/Managerial Responsibilities: • Represents the Manager Information Technology at official meetings • Prepares system and bimonthly status reports to Manager Information Technology Technical/Professional Responsibilities: • Configures and installs computer, peripheral and network equipment • Manages and maintains access and availability of the Local Area Network and Wide Area Network • Provides information technology support, consultation and training for Institute of Jamaica projects. • Maintains security of systems by running antivirus software, deleting old/unused files, securing equipment to its location • Acquires computer systems, hardware and software required for web development and other processes done within the Institute of Jamaica. • Troubleshoots computer hardware and software problems • Maintains backup of files and performs recovery of equipment and system failures • Designs web based applications and concepts for web pages • Reviews and updates web pages for Institute of Jamaica and Clearing House Mechanism websites • Oversees internet access and usage, ensuring protection against viruses

To assist the college librarian in promoting and developing the college library in order to provide an efficient service to students and staff.Main Functions:• Managing the issuing and returning of the library’s stock• Shelving stock and keeping the library in good order• Withdrawing stock under the direction of the college librarian• Provide support for cataloguing of new material to the library collection. • Processing new material so that it is ready for shelving• Managing the library management system and supporting its use by students• Running the overdue system• Help library users find material to meet their needs• Assisting library users to become proficient in using on line resources• Encourage students and staff in using the library through supporting a range of library based activities• Engage actively in the performance review process• Printing of materials requested by both students and staff• Photocopying materials requested by both staff and students
