Chicago Public Schools – Network Management and Monitoring Played large technical and administrative role in the overall installation, configuration and administration of the NimSoft Network Management/Monitoring solution designed to monitor, manage and analyze over 22,000 network devices. • Self-taught (then certified) on the Nimsoft platform from back end probe configuration to front end user interfaces• Created automated utilization and SLA reports for CPS management for better network performance analysis• Created specialized Dashboards for multiple users across multiple platforms• Integrated tools for Cisco configuration management, DNS/DHCP Management and Plixer-Netflow• Integrated existing Network Management Tools into Nimsoft for a consolidated Network Management Tool.• Worked with CPS end users to create new and streamline existing processes to create better efficiencies for network analysis, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance

As the first provider of In-Flight Internet, Gogo’s network required troubleshooting on 3 individual layers: Terrestrial RF Wireless, Route-Switching and a Server/Content layer. As Lead NOC Engineer, my responsibilities were an integral part of initial network build out which included over 100 wireless/terrestrial cell sites interconnecting with a Cisco routing network consisting of 2811’s, 3825’s and core routing via 7604’s and 7609’s into an IT infrastructure which created a ISP environment for the end users. Conducted extensive troubleshooting of both wireless and Cisco routing aspects of the network as they were the most frequent points of failure. Skill sets acquired include:• Cisco networking products including routers, L2/L3 switches, and ASA firewalls• Experience with packet capturing capture/protocol analyzers.• Experience with complex 24x7 multi-site environments and topologies• LAN/WAN Network Administrationo Responsibilities included surveillance, fault management, event notification Tier I & Tier II troubleshooting and incident resolution of the network infrastructure. To include the coordination and/or escalations of network issues to the appropriate engineering /operations teams.o Responsible for using network management, monitoring and trouble isolation tools and interpreting the results in order to successfully identify, understand and resolve network problems and improve network performance.o Provide oversight of all network activities, such as the coordination of change management and routine maintenance actions.o Identify, coordinate and document preventive, proactive and corrective maintenance requirements.o Support of network projects such as software or hardware upgrades, network expansion and data collection activities.o Responsible for testing and evaluating network hardware and software, developing new network monitoring, analysis tools and writing network documentation.
