Electronic Technician
CurrentJT4 provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. We develop and maintain realistic integrated test and training environments, and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapon's systems and air crews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.Operations and maintenance technician, working under general technical guidance, who specializes in ground-based electronic systems. Works on various types of electronic equipment and related devices by performing a combination of the following: installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction and testing. Maintain understanding of electronic support equipment and follow guidelines using checklists and published work instructions/procedures.Operates and maintains electronic equipment, network equipment, desktop clients, video teleconferencing systems, and other elements associated with the P5 ACTS system. Tasks include interpretation of flight schedules for daily operations, data entry, preventative maintenance, real-time diagnosis of system faults and errors, and appropriate action for remedy.Install, configure, and test commercial and proprietary hardware and software; perform operational testing and provide effective feedback on performance. Performs installation of new equipment as directed; works with other departments and work centers to coordinate efforts and achieve common goal.Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment.Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and effects repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition. Manipulates computer keyboards and views and interprets computer displays.
