I am a retired Metropolitan Police Officer who has worked hard to achieve success in a variety of unique and diverse roles. Having served the next three years as an Operational Team Leader for an investigative unit in the UK Civil Service, I have worked as a Crisis Management, Business Continuity and Resilience coach, since 2018. As a coach, I have utilised 33 years public sector experience, to offer pragmatic, practical & operational resilience solutions to companies across various sectors. Using the “grey hair” viewpoint, I have resonated with staff in those companies to help them develop their own skills, whilst reflecting upon their unique departmental, functional, regional or sector expertise. I have built policies, frameworks, plans for companies to use at times of disruption, embedded organisational awareness, developed key staff to perform specific roles and exercised the whole team to understand the intricacies and criticality of their interactions. I have managed organisational resilience programmes as well as individual workstreams.As a police manager, I have demonstrated strong leadership, by my task driven, people oriented approach, to the variety of teams that I have led. Having gained a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA), I am more able to develop myself and others to raise performance further. Previously enrolled as a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management (MInstLM), and the Security Institute (MSyl).I am a pragmatic decision maker in situations, whether dynamic and fast moving, or more protracted and considered. I quickly adapt to different working requirements, working alone or as an integral part of a team, to produce successful outcomes. I am organised and methodical in any operational planning process. Using the same skills when preparing reports, I ensure that they are comprehensive, informative, and sometimes persuasive. Attention to detail, coupled with strategic outlook enables me to identify and drive continuous improvement.I am confident speaking with internal/external stakeholders at all levels, whether as individuals or groups. When leading discussions, I am receptive to any issues, seeking collaboration to identify solutions. I have given presentations, coached others, and facilitated formal training .Nationally vetted to Security Checked (SC) level, my most recent work within the Police Service involved the management of high risk armed operations, requiring the proper handling of sensitive material and use of covert police assets/methodologies, to achieve operational objectives.
