André Robert is a Senior Attorney and Partner at BLC Robert who co-heads, with Senior Counsel Iqbal Rajahbalee, the Dispute Resolution Group of the firm. Back to Mauritius after his studies and two years of pupillage, André qualified as an Attorney in 1994.He has since been involved in legal advice to commercial firms, banks, insurance companies, sugar companies, petroleum companies, textile companies and hotels; litigation for those entities; legal advice to parastatal bodies (mainly Central Water Authority and Sugar Insurance Fund Board), and litigation for those entities; frequent offshore litigation and arbitration; chambers work in support of international arbitration, as well as trade mark litigation.He was a lecturer in Civil Law at the Council of Legal Education, and formed part for several years of the panel for Attorneys’, Barristers’ and Notaries’ examinations. He is a former Vice Chairman of the Mauritius Law Society.
