CurrentSupported the successful Comprehensive Cardiac Certification by the Joint Commission in 2023 managing three of the 6 departments surveyed, making SMCS only the second certified facilities west of the Mississippi. As Subject Matter Expert (SME) participated in the evaluation, required systems validation, workflow design, and eventual implementation of Epics solid organ transplant module (Phoenix).Responsible for the operational management of 6 programs which include Heart Transplant, LVAD, Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Heart Failure Clinic, Valve and Structural Repair, and Cardiac Rehabilitation that consists of over 2400 patients.Developed a patient identification and tracking process to identify Heart Failure patients and monitor readmissions allowing a multidisciplinary team to intervene with the goal of decreasing Heart Failure readmissions.Manage all aspects of daily operations for a team of 68 interdisciplinary staff members for a very acute and specialized disease specific population. Department has realized a 33% growth in the last 3 years. Combined Programs required management of a 10-million-dollar payroll budget and overall revenue exceeding 200 million dollars.Worked collaboratively with staff to develop and refine processes within the EHR to optimize patient care and operational efficiencies. Using EHR and other Health IT systems develop reporting and operational workflows to optimize reporting data to guide long term growth strategies.Work with team to identify opportunities for improvement and or growth for the specific programs.Leveraged existing database infrastructure to improve quality outcomes which involved manipulation of data between Epic exports and other applications to define baseline metrics to support organizational goals.
