Auditor – Hedge Funds & Captive Insurance Companies
Ensured successful completion of assigned audit engagements, from start to finish. Report to senior management. Manage and direct daily activities during an engagement. Applies risk and control concepts to scenarios encountered and identify any potential issues. Communicate identified issues with senior management to ensure any potential concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner. • Identify and communicate issues identified and offering recommended solutions relevant to the business and risk profile.• Ensure audit conclusions are based on a complete understanding of the processes, circumstances, and risk.• Develop audit programs and testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives.• Obtain and review evidence to ensure audit conclusions are well-documented.• Ensure adherence to all applicable department and professional standards.• Communicate assigned tasks to the engagement team in a manner that is clear and concise to quality, accurate, and efficient results.• Evaluate the client's internal controls, prepare an audit program outlining the extent of sampling required, schedule the engagement, and document for approval by the Engagement Partner.• Review working papers for accuracy and completion, review financial statements for suitability of presentation and adequacy of disclosures.• Summarize engagement outcomes, prepare points for the next year, prepare management letters, draft reports, and prepare routine client correspondence.• Follow the progress of the engagement, aid in clearing points, and resolve auditing and accounting problems.• Specific to Captives: Perform procedures on claims handing, provision for outstanding loss reserves and actuarial reports, collateral requirements, risk transfers and reinsurance.
