I'm a communications student with a passion for various topics, such as automotive, music and social justice. For my entire life, I've been surrounded by cars. Most of my family have been employed by Chrysler and being around modified vehicles are some of my earliest memories. This sparked a passion that left me highly intrigued with everything about cars: modification, production, and development.My time spent around cars is connected to my love for music. Loud obnoxious speakers in my family’s cars were always blaring reggae, soca, and rnb. As I grew up, my taste for music continued to expand to include rap, rock, EDM, and so many more. Listening to music is my main pastime and I adore the feeling of finding a song that I’ve never heard before. Hearing the stories of musicians and how they made their way to their current spots are some of my largest inspirations.Social justice in music is a large part of why I love it. Bob Marley, Kendrick Lamar, and Nas’s advocacy for basic human rights is important to me. Being Carribean, hearing these prominent figures showcase injustices through their work inspired me to want to do the same.Although it’s through a different lens, writing can highlight injustice, too. It’s a platform to share the stories of people who have been wronged by society’s normalizations. The possibility to do this while also connecting to my passions is what makes the career so attractive, and why it matters to me.
