Maintain a complete status of incidents for follow-through and reporting to management and customers. Install, diagnose, repair, maintain and upgrade all software and equipment (including but not limited to PC, terminals, printers, and scanners) to ensure optimal workstation performance. Troubleshoot problem areas (by telephone, or via remote access) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required. Requires routine and recurring access to classified Secret collateral information, materials, facilities, or systems.

The position consists of imaging workstations and laptops with National Guard standard desktop image. Our users are assisted in moves and getting set up. Software and printer installs are performed. Life cycle equipment replacement is a domain we troubleshoot as well. We perform hardware and software troubleshooting for computers and printers consistently. Personal computer support, problem analysis, and software and hardware installation are provided. Systems, communication devices and peripheral equipment are part of configuration when needed and necessary. Phone, remote and desk-side technical support are provided to users in the form of email assistance, directories, standard Windows desktop applications and connectivity of the network.-Works with IssueTrak to resolve tickets.-Works with DameWare-DEPO Manager-Print Server experience -Always make sure we have the latest version of software for work area.

This was my second deployment downrange. I came into contact with communication equipment on a very versatile level. I learned many things about satellites and there equipment (examples being ViaSat mobile satellites), especially putting them together. the satellites were mobile, meaning they can be moved if need be, immediately. i learned about the Ku and X bands information and how important that was when setting up those mobile terminals. I first learned about how to operate a Harris tactical radio here and how to configure those. I came into contact KG-84s as well. I managed taclanes, mobile satellites terminal, a mobile weather system, and network management while forward deployed to a camp in Uganda.

Afghanistan

I was deployed to Afghanistan during this time frame and was able to work with different sets of Army communication equipment. It was my first time working with the Cisco Call Manager or CCM. I was able to change and add/remove mac addresses, numbers and modify tasks and operations in the call manager. I learned about the CENTRIX network while downrange. I performed my original job as well, which was Network Management which while downrange, included configuring switches, installing them, and activating ports.
