I work in collaboration with other department managers to select the best-qualified applicants. Help develop and implement recruitment plans for SBL positions, source and screen applicants for manager consideration. I facilitate the employment offer by the manager and initiate the new employee on-boarding process. I also direct and facilitate relationships with area high schools, community colleges, universities, job service agencies and others as appropriate. Active participation in the development and reviewing of HR policies/procedures is a regular duty as well as implementing process improvement strategies. I have been fortunate to become certified in LEAN principles and actively engage in organization wide process management projects.

I provide small businesses with guidance of their social media needs whether it's the development of a marketing plan or administering their social media platforms.

As the Business Services Representative with The Crossroads Workforce Investment Board I faciliated relationships with small businesses and economic development through the Workforce Investment Act. I serviced an 8 county region and helped connect programs such as the Disclocated Worker program to businesses that were seeking trained employees. Other areas of concern included maintaining the regional Illinois Worknet site and marketing campaign, working closely with area Small Business Associations, and economic devlopment associations. I helped coordinate and implement information pertaining to areas experiencing critical skills shortages such as healthcare, manufacturing and logistics to universities and junior colleges to foster working relationships that would help fill workforce gaps. I participated in the RFP process for different programs funded under the Workforce Investment Act and wrote grants that helped produced training dollars for the critical skill shortage areas.
