I have more than a decade of experience reporting for newspapers, magazines, and public radio. I've reported from remote tribal lands in northeastern Montana, a bug zoo in Japan, and the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. I produced a daily talk show for public radio. It began as a live call-in show and morphed into a pre-recorded show during my tenure, so I gained skills in both arenas. For both versions, I collaborated with the host and my co-producer to devise engaging shows on local topics. I identified and pre-interviewed subjects ranging from politicians to activists to scientists. I wrote scripts. And for the live show, I screened callers and conducted on-air damage control. For the pre-recorded show, I filled in for the host on multiple occasions, and recorded and edited audio for every broadcast.
