I became a law enforcement officer with the El Paso Police Department. During my tenure I had the pleasure and opportunity to work in various areas and in different capacities. I was a patrol officer for approximately 8 years. During that time I patrolled the streets of El Paso, was part of the Bicycle Patrol in downtown El Paso, a training specialist at the Police Academy, and worked under cover in Narcotics. I promoted to detective, and worked in Internal Affairs, Crimes Against Children, and Crimes Against Persons-Homicide. I promoted to sergeant in 2003 and became a patrol sergeant on the swing shift, shortly after I went to Crimes Against Children and over saw the child abuse unit. After 2 years I transferred to Central Regional Command where I was in charges of the Criminal Investigations Division. I promoted to lieutenant in August of 2009 and went to the Westside Regional Command Center where I was in charged of the Criminal Investigations Division and Tactical Unit. After 5 years there I transferred to Recruiting and Backgrounds where I over saw the hiring of new police applicants. I retired on November 28th, 2014 after 26 plus years. On December 1st 2014 I began my new career with the Office of the Medical Examiner County of El Paso.
