Payroll and Entitlements 1 Manages the Human Resources aspects of IMO payroll: a) determines and approves appropriate payment of entitlements in accordance with the IMO Staff Regulations and Staff Rules (SRSR); b) oversees data entry on SAP-HR Payroll system for correctness of interpretation and compliance with the SRSR; c) responsible for the management of the social security matters within IMO, including pensions. 2 Oversees issues related to staff members’ residential status, registration with the Foreign Office and related vignette. 3 Drafts replies to audit queries (internal and external) with regard to entitlements and benefits. Rules, regulations and the internal justice system 4 Provides advisory service to staff members, Management and the Staff Association on the correct interpretation and application of the SRSR. 5 Recommends and drafts amendments to the SRSR with regard to staff entitlements and benefits. 6 Drafts and coordinates documents and briefs for the Council and the Assembly on HR matters. 7 Coordinates the administration of the appeals system – Staff Appeals Board (SAB) and United Nations Appeals Tribunal (UNAT) – on cases related to staff entitlements and benefits. Briefs the Legal Affairs Office. Salaries, Compensation and Classification 8 Acts as chairperson of the Local Salary Survey Committee and as survey coordinator for the Place-to-Place survey. 9 Reviews and approves the classification of vacant posts and organizes sessions of the Classification Committee. Insurance and Pension 11 Administers all HR-related IMO insurance schemes. 12 Acts as the IMO Secretary to the Pension Committee. 13 Acts as Secretary of the IMO Advisory Board on Compensation Claims (ABCC). SAP and IT matters 14 Acts as focal point for HR Payroll matters on SAP, assessing suitability of features of the SAP-HR Payroll system, ensuring updates and new functionalities are duly tested and approved.
