My area of responsability has been enlarged to the whole Technology Department divisions.

Process Technology section leads process troubleshooting in all refinery, optimization of technical performance, catalyst and chemicals management.Process Engineering section provides/check the basic design of all the process modifications, from small ones to new sections/units.From September 2022 my dept. includes also the Process Automation Section.

- Process optimization and performance control;- Benchmarking with competitors and best performers;- Development of new projects based on the best available techniques;- Process engineering of the new projects;- Energy Management and optimization;

- Assure the planned production of the refinery, targeting the performance in terms of yields and energy consumption;- Guarantee and promote the culture of the continuous improvement of the safety, enviroment and health standards;- Maximize the service factor and reliability of the plants through an effective process control and a properly planned maintenance;

- Operation management of a production area including 10 process units and 80 shift workers;- Guarantee the production in line with the plans and the continuous respect of the safety, environment and health protection standards;- Promote and develop new initiative to reduce costs and energy consumption.

- Control the performance of a series of process units;- Followed the commissioning, start-up and performance test of a new unit (Solvent Deasphalting) as technology and operation responsible;- Study and promote modifications to improve yields, safety and reduce consumptions;- Responsible for the application and management of the technical aspects of the contracts between the Refinery and the new Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle complex built next to the Refinery;

- Carry out process design of plant modifications, using also specific software as HYSIS (Hyprotech) and PROII (Invensys); - Management and follow up of the process design of new units normally contracted out to big engineering company like Foster Wheeler, UOP, Exxon Mobil;- Development, execution and final issue of the process book related to the "Interconnecting between ISAB Refinery and the new Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC)";- Owner Engineer and Responsible for the process design of a new Solvent Deasphalting (SDA) Unit, starting from the pilot plant test followed directly in Houston (USA) at Kellogg Browns & Root (KBR) Technology Center;
