I currently serve as Director of Oversight and Compliance for the Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA) at VA Central Office. OAA supports the largest health professions training program in the country with over 120,000 trainees in medical, dental, nursing, associated health and advanced fellowship programs. The Oversight and Compliance Unit provides guidance on VHA policies to allow VA to trainee clinicians "for VA and Nation" while minimizing risk to VHA, trainees and Veterans. I am appointed as Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Northwestern University in Chicago. Northwestern University played an instrumental role in establishing the first partnership between VA and academic medical centers, which allows me to work with residents at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center and in the Eye Clinic at Northwestern Medicine.
