Following the motto “Security as a whole”, I have always supported the idea of an integrated approach to the management of security risks, able to address and tackle any of the expressions which characterize the threat (physical, cyber, terrorism, damage of company image, etc.). The constant search for synergy between the different aspects of Security management is reflected by the redefinition of my department in “Global Security & Cyber Defence”, based on five key points: Core Business Protection, Secure Internationalization, Security Awareness, Security Compliance, Preventive and Reactive Ability. Being the CSO of a gas transportation company - a Critical Infrastructure by definition - I liaise with national and European Authorities regarding Critical Infrastructure protection directives and methodologies and chair/participate in several boards focused on security issues in the critical sectors. The cooperation with public and private entities facilitates open-minded discussions and the useful exchange of points of view, experiences and best practices related to the Security domain. The information sharing plays a crucial role in an interconnected world where the risks and the threats are varying and increasing every day. For this reason, I promote the continuous update of Security systems and staff, along with the creation of a strong security culture within my company, in order to be always ready to confront new sources of instability.
