Working in the UK and the US, the company specialises in factual and actuality series, history and science, wildlife and adventure programming. Tin Can Island was founded in 2012 by Andrea Cornes.

As Creative Director at ITV Studios Norwich, Andrea ran ITV Anglia's network production department – producing around 75 hours of television a year and employing over 100 staff - with a reputation for innovative, talent driven programming excellence. A major award winning and international producer of high quality wildlife, science and popular factual programming, the department produced a range of output for US networks including Discovery Networks and National Geographic Channels in the US and ITV, Channel 5, DNI and NGCI in the UK. Andrea originated and / or executive produced a large production slate for major US and UK broadcasters including recently; Animal Cops, Philly Undercover, Zoo Days, Safari Vet School, Lion Country, Cheetah Kingdom, Bait Car, Wild Britain with Ray Mears and Adventurers Guide to Britain.

As DDP, Andrea commissioned a range of programming on the regional slate including many of Anglia’s highest rating regional series including RIDDLES OF THE RIVER, AROUND THE HOUSES, THE WAY WE WERE, COASTAL KITCHENS and GO FISHING.In this role she also developed and executive produced Anglia’s network production slate with a raft of programming for the UK and US networks including ANIMAL PRECINCT (Genesis Award winner), the FAMILY CONFIDENTIAL brand for Channel 5, major daytime productions for ITV including BEING TERRI (BAFTA nominated) and EDDIE JORDAN (RTS nominated).
