My undergraduate and Honours degrees had a focus on Anthropology, which has left me with a great acceptance and understanding of cultural diversity, languages and travel – as well as extensive skills in research and communication skills both oral and written. Combined with a volunteer placement at Krakow’s School for the Blind and Partially Sighted as an English Teaching Assistant, which has given me skills in Teaching English as Second Language, as well as working with students with (multi) disability.Following this, I have completed a Masters of Applied Learning and Teaching, with intensive blocks of study and placement in local Geelong schools, teaching Media, Humanities and VCAL classes.I am currently employed at Hoppers Crossing Secondary College as a Learning Specialist - Writing Coach. In my time at Hoppers Crossing I have taught junior Humanities classes, Year 10 Philosophy, Year 10 Sociology and VCE Sociology. As the Writing Coach I have directed a team of staff in developing, trialing and implementing writing strategies across the college, developed and delivered numerous Professional Development sessions and coached my peers in becoming expert practitioners in the teaching of writing.I feel that I have a broad set of skills, which range from understanding, empathy, adaptability, independence, creativity and resilience.
