The Vice President of Philanthropic Services is responsible for providing operational leadership through planning, guidance, and support to Foundation projects and initiatives ranging from grantmaking and philanthropic advising to business development and portfolio management. This role collaborates across all teams at the organization to design and evolve approaches and systems that strengthen overall alignment with the Foundation’s Strategic Framework. The Vice President provides leadership on organizational goals and strategies, process optimization efforts, diversification of revenue, and technology enhancements for improved relationship management, impact, and reporting.

The Senior Director of Philanthropic Services provides leadership, strategic planning, and assistance to all aspects of philanthropic services at The Minneapolis Foundation. This position plays a key role in defining, interpreting, and supporting the business strategies, goals, information, and support needs of the Foundation’s Philanthropic Services team and uses deep analytical skills and systems-thinking to create data-driven strategies to further the success of new and existing goals and initiatives within Philanthropic Services. The Senior Director drives innovation and a creative team culture to challenge the status quo and explore new ways of accomplishing initiatives within the Foundation’s new strategic framework.

The Hospitality Minnesota Education Foundation exists to:1. Implement career-building educational programs that promote the hospitality industry to high school students2. Oversee and direct all the information management, support and technology services for the Development organization. Provide leadership, strategic planning, counsel and assistance to all Development Services areas including gift processing, information technology, business analysis, and prospect development and play a central role in contributing to the enhancement of supporting systems and programs. Oversee the teams of Direct Marketing, Systems, Applications, Reporting and Desktop Support; Prospect Research and Management; Constituent Data and Records Management; Gift and Pledge Management and Records. Play a key role in defining, interpreting and supporting the business strategies, goals, information, and support needs of the Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) development efforts.

• Oversee and direct the comprehensive prospect management and research system, information management, support and technology services for the Development organization. • Play a key role in defining, interpreting and supporting the business strategies, goals, information, and support the needs of the Children's Hospital of Minnesota (CHMN) development efforts. • Provide leadership, strategic planning, counsel and assistance to all Development Services areas including prospect development, stewardship, gift processing, information technology, and business analysis. And also play a central role in contributing to the enhancement of supporting systems and programs. • Reports to the Vice President of Development, and works with all program managers and groups under each area. • Oversee the teams of Prospect Research and Management; Reporting and Revenue Support; Constituent Data and Records Management; Gift/Pledge Status and Records. These teams are responsible for the systems, tools, processes and procedures necessary to enhance the fundraising operations of CHMN and ultimately prepare it for the imminent fundraising campaign.

Principle Donor Records Management:* Support Foundation President and Major Gift Officers in creating funding proposals, recognition proposals, and reports for principle donors. Create and send acknowledgment letters and pledge reminders to principle donors. Act as first point of contact for unexpected gifts over $10,000 or gifts from board members and VIP donors, ensuring these gifts and pledges are handled quickly and accurately. Assist data and stewardship teams in creating donor lists for public display (including Annual Report).Principle Donor Relationship Management:* Establish and manage information tracking processes regarding cornerstone capital and program goals and funding raised to date based on space and recognition opportunities available.* Establish and manage tracking process regarding top prospects for current and future major initiatives, focusing especially on prospects from the President’s portfolio. Assist in creating and managing materials given to volunteers and task force members. Conduct relevant prospect research and share information about emerging funding trends and opportunities with relevant administrative and clinical staff. Project management as assigned.Financial Management:* Understand and support the financial objectives of the organization: ensure affordability, reduce and/or eliminate waste, invest in the future and maintain profitability. Ensure proper coding/data management of funds donated to Children's and the Foundation for Front of the Line/VIP Donors. Maintain schedule and position control, projects staffing needs and manages hours within budget parameters.

The Senior Prospect Research Associate performs research, analysis, interpretation, and documentation in support of the Prospect Research and other Children's Foundation programs. Prospect Research - Consultation *As a key member of the Foundation's fundraising team, collaborate and consult on matters related to portfolio development, solicitation strategy formation and information gathering through peer screenings. Interpret results and provide direction on the segmentation and management of large groups of prospects and donors identified through the electronic screening process. Efficiently monitor a core group of principal gift prospects and maintain an active awareness of the important news and events involving them. Major Gift Prospect Identification *Proactively plan and execute appropriate strategies to identify major gift prospects to ensure that the Foundation has sufficient prospects to meet its annual fundraising goals and successfully complete a $150 million comprehensive campaign. Develop and execute strategies to differentiate prospects based on the characteristics of major donors (recency of giving, frequency of giving, value of giving + interest + ability). Differentiation may include the development of existing donor surveys, descriptive and predictive models, and/or a prospect rating system. Prospect Research Analysis and Writing *Provide high-level research on individuals, corporations, and foundations using a wide variety of biographical, organizational, and financial resources. Extract and communicate key information to assist with cultivation and solicitation strategies. Analyze and synthesize accumulated information to assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity, and linkages to Children's. Research/identify potential volunteers for leadership positions, stewardship events, benefit events, and fundraising/campaign committees.
