As a laboratory technician at ALS, I navigate the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to locate suitable samples for testing, prepare test samples, comprising of groups as large as 40 samples for analysis and complete accompanying laboratory test request forms to ensure traceability of results created. Other responsibilities:Ensure use of measurement equipment with required accuracy to synthesize results adherent to Quality Work Instruction guidelines, manage inventory and calibrate measurement equipment at least once daily.Maintain flexibility in daily test preparation obligations, volunteering my time to other colleagues in case of a disruption, e.g. sample tube breaking during centrifugation requiring repeat sample preparation.Coordinate a team of 3 laboratory technicians, including training on sample preparation, simple laboratory mathematics, and equipment handling to meet increasing throughput demand.Utilise >20 training modules, and feedback from occupational health and safety officers, given at weekly presentations, to sustain competency in laboratory procedures.Adhere to relevant recycling guidelines, and maintain clean work surfaces contributing to a safe working environment.
