Andrea DeVico has 14+ years of experience designing creative, culturally relevant, standards based math instruction to learners of all ages and abilities. She is passionate about developing teachers through providing continuous targeted professional development and fostering team collaboration. Andrea earned her masters in Secondary Math Education and Special Education K-12 from St. John’s University and her master’s in Urban Education and Leadership from Lehigh University. As a special education specialist, over the years, she has provided targeted support in special education for students ranging in all abilities. She has co-taught in humanities, science and math as well as coached special education teachers in developing differentiated curriculum and targeted classroom management. Most recently, Andrea has spent the last few years developing the first high school Horizons program in the Bronx, a program devoted to the needs of autistic learners. Andrea’s ambition and energy is evident in her unwavering dedication to bringing high quality education to all learners. As a math coach, she has vertically aligned math courses, while integrating problem based and project based learning. She coaches through informal observations and honest conversations, challenging her peers to provide effective and equitable math education.
