Over the years, I have developed a strong passion for the marketing and events sector. Being involved in a campaign or event for the beginning, middle and end allows me to experience the satisfaction of a job being completed to a high standard. I first became involved in organising events while at Wellington College Belfast, where I, with a team, organised the sixth form formal as well as fundraisers for the formal and the sixth form charity Christmas concert. Working with budgets and within time scales allowed me to thrive and pull of an event that everyone would enjoy and remember. The role included; working in a team, delegating projects, managing finances, organising transport, venue hire and entertainment. While working on these events I realised the importance of being organised and creating contacts within the sector. Once I moved to Manchester and began my degree in Management and Leisure, my interests in events began to expand to marketing and PR. While at University I was given the opportunity to gain experience at Fluid Bars and The Lawn Club. While at these companies I gained knowledge in branding, social media marketing, press releases, event planning, customer services and sales. I valued my time at Fluid Bars and The Lawn Club as they gave me a chance to see the events and marketing sector fist hand and to be allowed to get involved and learn as I did transpired to me gaining invaluable experience and skills.As well as the experience I have working in the events and Marketing sector, from the age of 15 I have been working in the hospitality sector. Where I began as a glass collector to working my way up to a food and beverage waitress and a bar tender. Since joining the hospitality sector, I have been privileged to experience different job roles within different venues, gaining vast experience and skills that I believe can help me in the events and marketing sector.
