My teaching philosophy is that true education is holistic and lifelong. I believe that all learners have great potential to learn anything provided that the learning environment is safe and stimulating. As an educator, I strive to build an inclusive environment where differences are celebrated; critical thinking and creativity is encouraged, and expectations of the learners are high but realistic. With a teaching license in elementary education from the District of Columbia (USA)and currently in my 5th years of teaching at an international school, I have developed skills that allow me to build self-directed learners while building a safe learning environment of high, realistic expectations and risk taking. I aim to develop cross curricular, creative lessons that are differentiated and stimulating. My achievements include 83% of students have moved to a higher level of the reading program in 1 term. 91% of students have moved to the next level in maths in the Ist term. Planned maths day and book week for the whole of Primary years to celebrate maths and literacy and develop a love for it.
