Leader of the professional association, City HR, which comprises 185 corporates involved in banking, asset management, insurance, professional services and suppliers to the financial services community.Involved in lobbying and representation, on all matters impacting people management, as well as co-authoring best practice publications, co-delivering HR benchmarking data and providing thought-leadership on issues including culture, governance, equality, diversity and inclusion and talent management. A conference speaker on People Analytics and evidence-based decision-making at board level.Commissions or personally delivers people management learning and knowledge sharing events on matters affecting the membership now and relating to the future of work.2014 to 2021: Master and Co-Founder of the Guild of Human Resource Professionals (with Robert Potter) and Chair of their charitable trust until 2021. Now serving a one year term as Master of the Guild through to October 2022.. Co-lead the start-up of the HR Guild to ensure that this profession is recognised alongside other occupations and trades who have achieved Livery Company status. Constructed the business plan and delivered this to the Aldermen of the City of London for approval. Assisted with the establishment of new Court and the appointment of inaugural staff. Court Member and Finance and General Purposes Committee participant.

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the City HR Association including best practice, HR benchmarking, training course design and delivery and industry-wide knowledge sharing. On the Management Committee for strategy and planning. Involved in extensive project management ranging from the introduction of CIPD qualificaiton training in the City and Canary Wharf through to model policy development on topics such as diversity.

Founded Quantum and VarCity Communications in 1990. Quantum was a niche provider of career management services throughout the 1990s, whilst VarCity provided extensive HR consulting to organisations in all sectors, but particularly financial and professional services. Activities included salary surveys, employee engagement surveys, HR policy development, HR related training and every aspect of career management. Sold to Fairplace plc in June 2000 and remained as a Director/co Managing Director until November 2006.

Joined Chase Manhattan in 1981 and spent a short time in credit. Progressed to Europe Area Compensation Division before becoming an HR Manager for various parts of the business. Gained experience in every facet of HR (except pensions) and also had specialist responsibility for Graduate Recruitment (including international MBA Recruitment for London) and Employee Communications. Left Chase after many happy years to set up own company.

First position on leaving full-time education in the HR Department at Citibank. Mainly involved in expatriate management. Joined Chase when department relocated to Lewisham.
