• Designing and implementing the foundations of UEFA cloud platforms on Azure: create a solid architecture with standards to deliver a consistent experience both for technical teams to create and use the different solutions, and for end-users to simplify the adoption of our tools;• Designing and implementing the Akamai solution at UEFA: leading the transformation and modernization of UEFA Enterprise solutions and the devops support team;• Support the adoption and implementation of cloud security suites: in collaboration with the UEFA SecOps team we manage the Akamai suite of solutions which includes Site Shield and WAF. On cloud we are managing the Azure FroontDoor plus networking solution to ensure the highest level of security;• Design and implementing the uefa.com video solution for VOD and live events: we are currently using different video solution to guarantee the best end-user experience. In collaboration with different suppliers we are providing VOD and LIVE solutions. VOD is using two different vendors to encode the video with a multi-bit rate and multi-language solution (encoding.com) and Akamai to delivery the video. For the live events we use two different solutions for live matches and draws, all solutions that are not require any video rights are implemented on Akamai and manage by me and the streaming provider which provides the signal. Live match solution is fully provided by a third-party vendor;• Managing billions of requests per week with high peaks during match nights: as Solution Architect one of my roles is to guarantee the good delivery of UEFA services to end-users on a complex solution during the events such as Champions League match nights and Euro competition and at the same time guarantee the same performance outside of the live events with the lowest possible budget;• Public cloud migration management (200+ applications): UEFA has set a long-term target to migrate all solutions to cloud.

• Leading a team of 2 in charge of the transformation and modernization of UEFA Enterprise solutions including the cloud transformation and adoption;• Managing the corporate on-premise Database including the Disaster recovery procedure for the different solution used at UEFA;• Managing the cloud DBaaS and manage instance data platforms;• Delivery of database solutions roadmap on a bimonthly basis;• Review and cost optimization of DB resources on a monthly basis;• Design of solutions for data migrations to cloud or different corporate solutions as the reporting software or the Business Intelligent Platform;• Currently managing a portfolio of 150+ applications in public cloud: as main application currently managing there is the uefa.com website and all related APIs resources with a MongoDB cluster solution;• Currently managing a portfolio of 1200+ databases across all platforms: platforms currently in use are MSSQL and MySQL/MariaDB on corporate, Atlas Mongo DB and Azure SQL on cloud;

• Azure review and cost optimization on a monthly basis: as part of my role on Azure the cost and optimization are an important task to ensure smooth operation of services and meet expected performance; • Azure maintenance activities: on my usual commitments one of the recurring activities is to check performance anomalies, errors, capacity and latency on a biweekly basis, even before the alerts threshold;• Akamai management; as daily work I’m helping the other devops engineers to maintain a high level of quality of the Akamai properties in terms of best approach and best performance configuration during the property change process• Performance management activity: as part of my role the performance management process before going live with an application is the most important activity to perform with developer support; • Project migration to cloud: as part of the ongoing cloud migration I’m working on prioritizing workloads for migration, determining the correct plan for each individual workload, developing a pilot, testing, and adjusting the strategy based on the results of the pilot, use of migration tools when fit-for-purpose to have a significant impact on the migration effort and, where appropriate, create structures to accelerate migration;• DevOps customized solutions; thanks to my previous developer role I’m developing a set of DevOps tool to help recurring operations run in the most standard and simple way possible. For example, I built a portal to collect all the daily traffic reports downloaded on a daily basis via Akamai’s APIs. The download is driven by an automatic job that is able to keep the portal updated in terms of data and information of all 160 akamai properties. Another facility I’ve created is a portal to create the Azure ARM scripts to deploy a common resource set and add it to our CI/Cd pipeline as IaC;

Due to an internal reorganization, I had the possibility to give a large support to the new IT Manager in the operative management of projects and teams. I become the technical point of reference, internally and externally, for different web projects both B2B and B2C for European and World football competitions. Again, I was also involved in web projects related to Olympic Winter Games. The Company follows the sport events lifecycle, this imply years in which we prepare the events and years in which we have to be actively supportive from the go-live to the end of the competition. - B2B and B2C projects migration for the biggest European football federation: managing the entire project lifecycle, from architecture guidelines creation to technical leading and project management, being the single point of reference for internal and external clients.- B2C Video related project in cooperation with Akamai.- Active-Active infrastructure solution: with the aim of being able to sustain billion web pages to be served during the live event with a sensitive costs reduction.- Webpage caching review: always trying to preserve the best user experience and the traffic generated during the live event, I was in charge of create and maintain new rules and procedures to modify TTLs. - Live third level support during the competitions.

Thanks to my previous experience on web projects for the same client (a European football federation), I had the possibility to be more and more involved in preparing a big event, both from a B2C and B2B side. During this period I started to be direct point of reference for the client and I had the possibility to coordinate a team. It has been a very challenging project, which required also to be on venue for the lasting of the tournament, facing security issues and giving the best support to the client. In the same period I also contributed to deliver a great project related to the Olympics Games in London, especially giving support in stressful situation 24/7. - In charge of developing and implementing the move of the environment from NTT to Interoute solution. - Implementing the infrastructure solutions, giving technical supervision and guidelines to the client in collaboration with the IT Manager.- Responsible for the creation of an ad hoc workaround to enforce the disaster recovery procedure during the accreditation phase of the tournament. The aim was avoid the stop of the 8 Accreditation Centers dislocated in Poland and Ukraine in case of disaster. - Security tasks: assessment with a third party to analyze and stop security breakdown; implementation of security rules and creation of emergency procedure using Akamai, SQL injections blocks and so on. During the tournament we have to face hacker flood and DDoS attack, but we succeed in maintaining the website online.- Performances optimization: side by side with the developers, we have to analyze every single web page to be sure about what we need in terms of CDN and Client Cache. - 24/7 remote multi-customers support during live competition of the Olympics Games: issue analysis, solutions and workaround implementation; customer care and direct support to the internal development team.- Team leading: task assignments, milestones verification and supporting the group from a technical point of view.

I took part in two different web based B2C projects. The first one was related to the main seasonal European football competitions and enhance my ability to face problems within the development team, operating on a public website. The second was focused on the entire website lifecycle for a big worldwide multisport event covered by a famous US broadcaster. - Microsoft SQL Server administration: installing and configuring a 4 node SQL cluster with the aim to fill web pages with precise sport data sets for many different disciplines.- Improve and maintain T-SQL databases: creating and programming a software which allows the automation of configuration, management and monitoring for the entire SQL instances related to all the applications in charge.- Implementation of the Disaster Recovery procedure for the biggest football event in the world, with the aim to assure the best web user experience to a wide public (more than 100 million unique visitors).- Actively involved in the development lifecycle: daily meeting with the development team, understanding of software requirements, defects detection and analysis, troubleshooting in pair with the developer. All the applications were Microsoft based (.NET Framework).- Participate to client’s call conference side by side the IT Manager in charge to maintain and improve the commercial relationship. Technical support in discussing solutions and roadmaps.- Third level support during the competition, monitoring, troubleshooting.- Design, installation, implementation, configuration and maintenance of the Corporate Microsoft TFS solution.- Design, installation, implementation, configuration and maintenance of the Corporate Microsoft SharePoint solution.

During this period I worked in a 5 people team in a junior role. This first step in the Company allows me to learn how the business works and to be involved in a B2B project related to a complex web application, born in 2006 and supposed to be the only tool used by the most influential European football federation to plan and operate the logistics of some of the major EU football competition. - Applications and deployment environment monitoring: operative tasks execution, with a strong focus on defects causes and their analysis to improve solutions and the whole monitoring procedures. I’ve been directly involved in creating script and code with .NET Framework in order to automate complex functionalities.- Supporting the development team in their day-by-day activities: assistance, maintenance, deploying and upgrade of medium to big size applications mainly on Microsoft technologies.- Web application deployment in pre-production and production environment, initially with my Responsible supervision, then autonomously.- Environment creation based on client’s requirements. Server and applications installation and configuration in IIS.
