I provided a strategic approach and support for a full communications remit from planning, through to implementation, across a range of channels.My expert communications and engagement knowledge guided clients through campaigns to crisis management, supported with strategies and dedicated communications plans.

I set-up a new communications and marketing function to promote the innovative and pioneering work of the Trust's Research and Development Department. My role involved a strategic, integrated approach covering internal and external communications through to engagement and social media.With the establishment of clear communication and engagement strategies, I increased the profile of the Trust with regular media coverage and developed a dedicated communications team.

My brief was to develop this specialist mental health trust’s communications, to unite four different operational groups and to support the organisation’s values and visions, as it continues through a major change programme. Key achievements• Launch of the Trust’s first staff awards scheme, which was commissioned to run again for a second year.• Launch of the Trust’s first 16 page staff e-zine, which has secured funding to become a quarterly publication.• Development of a verbal briefing mechanism, in association with the Trust’s executive directors, for financial and business news rolled out across the whole organisation.• Designed and produce a new weekly business bulletin for all staff.• Established a network of communication champions to support all communication channels.• Organised the first UK conference for Huntington’s Disease, which was fully booked with delegates from across the UK and Europe.• Production, from writing through to distribution, of the Trust’s main financial corporate publications including the Annual Report, Quality Accounts and Annual Review.• A programme of press releases focussing on all areas of the business using communication champions• A planned events calendar to support local and national health initiatives.

This short-term interim contract was to support the delivery of key corporate events and develop and support internal communications.Key achievements• Set up a new staff newsletter for a specialist operational group.• Event management for Cheshire Show and Tatton Flower Show.• Established communication champions.• Completed an Internal comms project updating the web site and cross-referencing with a dedicated resource pack for councillors with co-ordinated key messages/information.

This 12-month contact was to oversee stakeholder engagement and media relations across an organisation under constant change and develop a programme of events from ministerial visits, consultations, and the opening of multi-million pound facilities.Key achievements• Organising a ministerial visit attended by 200 key stakeholders to open a unique social housing and health project.• Successfully organising a stakeholder engagement programme with meetings and publicity material as well as leading on a media campaign, which produced an attendance of more than 200 stakeholders for a public meeting.• Launching a specialist internal e-zine for targeting specific stakeholders with technical, specialist health information.

As a three month contract, I developed the membership and prepared the recruitment for staff governors and external governors through engagement activities. Key achievements• Established a recruitment pack for public governors.• Prepared a recruitment pack for staff governors.• Hosted a series of engagement events for both staff and public.

A contract to set up and establish a new press and media office for the Trust and build partnerships with key stakeholders.Key achievements• Set up a new press office from scratch with new procedures and practices• Organised an official opening of a multi-million centre with the establishment of a stakeholder group to organise an opening ceremony for the local community.• Achieved national coverage for a specialist communication system using mobile phone technology.• Successfully completed a rebranding exercise with a change of organisation name.• Organised a health fair for staff and public with more than 60 stalls showcasing services and the work of the organisation.
