Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer and responsible for 240 employees and 500 volunteers across all guest and participant facing functions. Managed budgets totaling in excess of $12.5 million annually with half of the expenses supported by fundraising. Accountable for all aspects of an exceptional guest experience and impactful programs inspiring and motivating youth to become our next generation of innovators and scientists. Impact and accessibility measured by extensive research and evaluation.

Reporting to the Director of IDCFS -a $1.3 billion state agency responsible for protecting and caring for children who have been abused or neglected and increasing the capacity of families to safely care for them. Responsible for managing and building partnerships across communities and stakeholders to develop the relationships, research, and knowledge necessary to improve the child welfare system.

Reporting to the President of Voices for Illinois Children and responsible for credible fiscal and policy analysis, communication, and advocacy related to Illinois state budget and tax system. Recognized expert on budget and tax policy including the Earned Income Tax Credit, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, State Children’s Health Insurance Program, the Child Care Development Block Grant, education funding and the Illinois tax system and its structural deficit. Delivered multiple research reports, led statewide coalitions and spoke at forums across the state to help inform advocates and the public of the choices and priorities included in the annual Illinois State budget. Testified before legislative committees multiple times.

Accomplished business trial attorney providing counsel and legal advice in cases involving intellectual property, contract acquisitions and disputes, employment law, real estate, financial fraud, bankruptcy and securities. Clients included banking institutions, individuals, businesses, real estate developers, bankruptcy trustees, and receivers. Provided legal and business strategy counsel on all issues regarding dispute avoidance and resolution including legal and evidence investigation, legal research and assessment, preparing and delivering written and oral arguments, managing witnesses, evidence documentation, review and protection of sensitive privileged materials, settlement agreements and trial preparation. Liaised with securities and real estate transactional lawyers, accountants, auditors and other experts to assess best strategies and advise clients of business risks and optimal legal strategy. Served as lead trial counsel in federal and state courts. Experience also included preparing and arguing appeals before the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal and the California Courts of Appeal. Achieved accelerated promotion to partnership. Appointed to two major management committees during first year of partnership.
