Andrea Jacoby OShell has been in the wine industry for over a decade starting her career at A Taste of Wine in Miamisburg, Ohio where she enjoyed learning about wines from all over the world. Andrea moved to Oregon in 2015 to continue her career in the wine industry. She began working in wineries as a tasting room ambassador, and was quickly recognized and promoted to the wine club manager at Troon Vineyard. Andrea joined Cowhorn in April 2016 to help launch the new tasting room and to broaden her wine education by working with the Biodynamic® farming method and the Rhone-style wines at Cowhorn. Tasting with Andrea brings an international scope to the conversation about cool climate, and place-based wines.Andrea finds joy in helping new tasting rooms open, personal growth, and expanding her knowledge of the southern Oregon wine region. She accepted a position with the certified organic vineyard, Long Walk, as Tasting Room Manager. She led the charge for the daily tasting room operations, wine club, shipping, food program, and staff management.Andrea transitioned to distribution in the fall of 2019. The opportunity to represent an international book brought new and exciting challenges. It also allowed her to finally pursue her WSET III certification, which she received with merit. Andrea strives to bring the best wine possible to all of her clients. As a graduate of Wright State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a concentration in Biology, Andrea has a range of interests. Her internship at Catholic Social Services and working closely alongside Dayton Public Health piqued her interest. This opportunity showed her that the combination of Political Science and Biology was helpful in assisting clients with their government assistance, as well as their medical assistance.Andrea also uses her BA by volunteering with the United Nations NGO, and National Model United Nations by writing background guides, running committees, and inspiring delegates to use their public speaking and writing skills to change the world.
