In my role as the post-release monitoring coordinator for the Bukit Batikap conservation forest release site, it was my responsibility to manage the personnel at the site in order to maintain the highest standards of post-release support and behavioural research. I did this by creating schedules based on orangutan priority information and personally reviewing all data. Further responsibilities included the tracking of orangutans using radio telemetry equipment, collection of behavioral data, monitoring physical well-being of released orangutans, processing and transport of all field data, orangutan translocation, supply inventory, training of new employees and volunteers, collection of monthly phenology data, analysis of behavioral and ecological data, design of new databases, writing of updates and reports, logistical travel and supply planning, and assistance during medical procedures and orangutan releases.The Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation is an Indonesian non-for-profit organization that aims to conserve the Bornean orangutan and its habitat by providing rehabilitation, sanctuary, and release for the great apes while cooperating with local communities, governmental organizations, and foreign bodies.

As a primate keeper at the Audubon Zoo, it was my responsibility to undertake jobs relating to primate shifting, hand-feeding, enrichment design, diet preparation, browse collection, exhibit maintenance, behavioral observation, pest control management, training of new behaviors and maintenance of old behaviors, and guest education. There I worked with a variety of species including Wolf's guenons, black-and-gold howler monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, white-faced saki monkeys, golden lion tamarins, mandrills, talapoin monkeys, black-and-white ruffed lemurs, western lowland gorillas, Sumatran orangutans, and siamangs.The Audubon Zoo, part of the Audubon Nature Institute, is an AZA-accredited non-profit organization that aims to provide animals with the highest level of care while using them as instruments to educate the public and help conserve species from around the globe.

During my time as an intern at the White Oak Conservation Center, I undertook numerous responsibilities including diet preparation, browse collection, exhibit maintenance, behavioral observation, assistance during medical procedures, neonatal care, animal transport, and manual animal restraint. I also lived on site in order to engage in neonatal care and enclosure checks in the early hours of the morning and late into the night. I worked with a wide range of ungulate and carnivore species including roan antelope, Indian rhinoceroses, white rhinoceroses, gerenuks, eastern bongos, lesser kudus, Nile lechwe, okapis, giraffes, dama gazelles, cape buffalo, slender-horned gazelles, cheetahs, tigers, and maned wolves.The White Oak Wildlife Conservation Center is an AZA-accredited organization that promotes the conservation of endangered animal species through active breeding programs and educational programming.

Interns with the primate department at the Audubon Zoo are responsible for enrichment design, diet preparation, browse collection, exhibit maintenance, behavioral observation, and guest education.

My responsibilities as an intern with the village department of Wildlife Safari included diet preparation, enclosure cleaning, guest education, and animal handling. I worked with a wide variety of species encompassing reptiles, arachnids, insects, birds, non-human primates, and other assorted mammals.Wildlife Safari is an AZA-accredited non-profit organization that cares for hundreds of animals, educates the public about the species present in the facility, and actively participates in conservation initiatives such as species survival plans.

As a collections intern, my role included photographing collections, cataloging and packing items, assisting external authorities during collection assessments, and discovering forgotten collections.The Frost Museum of Science is an institution that gives its patrons the opportunity to learn about technology and natural history in a hands-on setting.

As a lab technician with the Molecular Core Laboratory my responsibilities included maintenance of a 3130xl Genetic Analyzer, the running of DNA sequencing technologies, billing, supply orders, inventory management, hazardous waste disposal, laboratory protocol training, solution preparation, and the autoclaving of all laboratory supplies.The Molecular Core Laboratory, at the University of Miami, is a DNA analysis facility offering researchers access to genetic technology, equipment, bench space, and assistance.

In my role as a teaching assistant for the introductory physical anthropology class, I was responsible for lecturing during review sessions, tutoring during weekly office hours, grading assignments, and managing class attendance.The introductory physical anthropology class at the University of Miami, APY 203, focuses on teaching students about modern anthropological principles, human evolution, and primatology.

In my role as a peer adviser for the biology department, I was matched with 5-8 biology freshman with whom I would meet throughout the year to provide academic guidance. I also spent several hours each week working at the front desk of the biology advising office.The biology department advisory services offers class, research, and career guidance for all biology majors at the University of Miami.

At the Port Chester Animal Hospital, a private office offering veterinary services for domestic pets, I served as a veterinary intern who was took part in the cleaning of examination room and cages, dog walking, animal handling, surgery observation, and assisting during miscellaneous tasks.
