Technical Writer
Current• Develop, update, edit, and create deliverable documents using Adobe Structured FrameMaker, Acrobat DC, Illustrator, Photoshop, and the Microsoft Office suite of programs.• Prepare and maintain testing documents for United States Coast Guard (USCG) Military Satellite Communication (MILSATCOM) systems and components, including Naval Modular Automated Communications System (NAVMACS) and Mobile User Objective Systems (MUOS), that adhere to government policy, standards, and instructions for technical publications.• Conduct research, design templates, and develop content for operational Job Aids (JAs) using published manufacturer system and/or component operation and maintenance manuals.• Assist in the development and maintenance of various deliverable documents to include, Readiness Assessments (RAs), System Operational Verification Tests (SOVTs), Job Aids (JAs), Pre-Installation Check Outs (PICOs), Pre-Installation Test Check Outs (PITCOs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).• Execute required Quality Assurance (QA) reviews to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of each document. Editing for compliance with government standards, industry guidelines, and internal company standards.• Develop team and company-use templates, checklists, trackers, and “how-to” guides used to standardize document styling and improve team efficiency. • Provide reports and documentation of document and project progress, status, and issues using Microsoft SharePoint and CGHelp2.0 Task Tracker.
