    My research was primarily focused on understanding and enhancing human pluripotent stem cell derived cardiomyocyte maturation resulting from applied physiological mechanical stimuli. My research utilized existing tools and worked to develop new tools for monitoring and assessing the contractile function of individual cardiomyocytes as well as engineered heart tissues (EHTs). I fabricated and utilized micropost arrays to measure the contractility of single cells, and also developed a platform to enhance and measure the contractile function of 3D EHTs.
