Lead product development of a point-of-care G6PD enzyme activity assay in a product development partnership with PATH. Participated in the development of a COVID lateral flow test. Authored grant applications that resulted in contracts with BARDA, NRL and other funding agencies.

Director, Advanced Diagnostics. Lead team of over 35 researcher focused on development of In-Vitro Diagnostics technologies. Conducted due-diligence efforts for point-of care and infectious disease diagnostics (tuberculosis, sepsis and others). Collaborated with business teams in several key cross-business strategy developments to develop business cases and technology strategies.

Led a team of 13 researchers focused on developing biomaterials, scaffolds, bioreactors and cell culture environments for the expansion of cord blood and bone marrow derived hematopoietic stem cells for the treatment of cancer and cardiovascular disease.

Led study of Tribology of medical devices. Developed mathematical model describing influence of material and lubrication properties on occurrence of stick-slip oscillations during syringe actuation. Responsible for elucidating polymer process-structure-property relationships for medical devices. Using X-ray diffraction, thermal and mechanical analysis, process dependent structure formation in injection molded polypropylene parts was studied.
