Media Hub is a professional course that focuses on producing excellent journalism. Students are hand-picked from different concentrations in the Hussman School of Media and Journalism, and are put in teams to create multimedia story packages. Team members collaborate to find and produce stories that focus on community and state issues. As the reporter, I wrote and edited print stories that were published in media outlets across the state, including Chapelboro and the Greensboro News & Record.

Assistant Manager: Conducted monthly reviews of employees and ran staff meetings when necessary. In charge of keeping track of inventory and ordering accordingly. Communicated with vendors via phone and email. Ran the social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram) for a year and a half to announce events and daily life at the shop while keeping it cohesive with branding. Handled questions from staff and problem solved as the need arose. Barista Skills: Made coffee, tea, and espresso drinks according to shop specifications. Kept shop clean and tidy. Brewed coffee, dialed in espresso machine, ran cash register, served pastries. Established rapport and interacted with customers, answered questions in person and via phone. Received espresso pulling and espresso machine training.

Traveled to clients' homes daily and walked dogs according to individual needs. Kept pets safe and maintained security of the home during/after visit. Followed a timed schedule. Communicated with clients regarding schedules, animal care, and well-being of pets during the visit.

Delivered flowers and gift items to homes and funerals. Checked in and priced new gift items when shipments arrived. Helped clean and cut flowers when they were delivered. Kept coolers and buckets clean and organized. Cleaned bathrooms and tidied the store. Assisted customers in-store and took orders over the phone. Edited and updated website to reflect seasonal changes in flowers and merchandise. Occasionally assisted designers in making small arrangements or wedding centerpieces. Helped set up flowers for both wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Cleaned offices, bathrooms, and breakrooms in a factory (part-time, evenings). Used industrial cleaning supplies. Completed cleaning duties for daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules. Duties included: dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning windows, emptying trash, cleaning mirrors, sinks, and toilets, maintaining general tidiness, polishing wooden desks and chairs, refilling paper items (paper towels, etc) and other bathroom supplies.

Processed shipments before store opened, appropriately folded or hung items, and placed in proper location in store. Reset displays. Kept stockroom clean and organized. Assisted customers with questions as needed. Interacted with customers on the floor and at the cash wrap, operated a touchscreen computer system, and handled a cash drawer. Was Team Lead for Merchandise Flow department (TAP Supervisor – Holiday 2015). Additional duties included accepting and recording shipment and leading a team of ladies to process, merchandise, and backstock items efficiently. Occasionally served as opening and closing manager. Counted cash drawers, recorded deposits, and oversaw employees in their opening and closing tasks.

Communicated with clients via phone and email to make updates and resolve issues. Learned a specialized data system. Handled new business accounts and accurately imported information into the system. Created monthly reports and sent to clients.
